Apps Page¶

Introduction¶

The apps page is where you browse apps, create apps, delete apps, and edit app settings.

Before any apps are created, the apps page has a welcome image and the Create New App button.

If there are existing apps, they appear as a grid of app tiles under a toolbar.

Create an App¶

You can create an app in these ways:

• Use a template app.
• Use a previously exported app file.
• Start from scratch.

From Template¶

To create an app based on a template provided by Jitterbit, follow these steps:

1. Click Create New App. The Create New App dialog opens with the From Template tab selected:

   

2. To browse the available templates, select one in the list. Then review the preview images and descriptions in the main panel and download template-specific PDF documentation using the Documents button.

3. When you have chosen a template app, select it and click Next. The From Template tab shows the app settings.

4. Enter values for the app settings, then click Create.

From File¶

To create an app based on a previously exported app, follow these steps:

1. Click Create New App. When the Create New App dialog opens, select the From File tab:

   

2. Click the File region, select a previously exported app's .zip template file, then click Upload. Alternatively, drag and drop a file into the File region.

3. Click Next. The From File tab shows the app settings.

4. Enter values for the app settings, then click Create.

From Scratch¶

To create a new app from scratch, follow these steps:

1. Click Create New App. When the Create New App dialog opens, select the From Scratch tab:

   

2. Enter values for the app settings, then click Create.

App Tiles¶

An app's tile shows the app's name, its environment, and its colored icon. Hover on a tile to reveal an app's description and controls:

• View / Edit: Click to edit the app using the build pages, starting on the Overview page. You can also edit an app by clicking anywhere on its tile.

• App Management: Click the app management menu to reveal the following options:

  • Settings: Click to open the app settings dialog.

  • Export As Template: Click to download the app as a .zip template file, which can be used to create an app from a template in the same or a different environment.

  • Delete: Click to delete the app. A confirmation dialog appears. Click Yes to delete the app, or No to cancel.

App Tiles Toolbar¶

Above the app tiles is a count of the number of apps and a toolbar:

• Environment Selector: Click to select which environment's apps to show.

• App Name Search: Enter text to filter apps by name.

• Show Only Released Apps: Turn on to show only apps that have been released.

• Create New App: Click to create a new app.
