Email Templates

Introduction

In the Configuration > Email Templates page, you can view and edit the system email templates used in user management operations including creating a new user and resetting a user's password.

Note

To define email templates used in application logic, go to Administration > Templates in your app.

Available Templates

Template Name Template Code Active Description
New User Notification send_user_info Active A template sent to an existing user when they are added to a different app. Only the email address and app information are sent to the user. Used in single sign-on (SSO) scenarios.
New User Notification send_password Active A template containing access information that is sent to a new user when they are created.
Password Reset Request password_reset Active A template sent during the password reset process to the requesting user.
Account Activation email_confirm Active A template containing access information that is sent to the default administrator defined when a new app is published for the first time.

Creating a New Email Template

In the Email Templates page, click the New Email Template button to create a new email template.

The New Template dialog opens:

  • Name: Enter the name defined for the created email template.

  • Subject: Enter the subject of the email to be forwarded.

  • System Code: Enter a unique value that can be defined in the system for the created email template.

  • Status: Select the activity status of the email template. Active is set by default.

  • Language: Select the language in which the created template was generated. Language definitions created under Globalization are listed here.

  • Sender Name: Enter the sender name that will appear in the email sent to the users.

  • Sender Email: Enter the sender email that will appear in the email sent to the users.

  • Content: Enter the template content. The email template you will design in the text editor is saved in HTML format.

Required System Email Template Parameters

System email templates use parameters that are not visible under the Add Parameter menu in Content to send relevant account information.

Caution

The parameters in this list should always be present somewhere in their associated system email templates when making edits. If not, system emails that use these templates will not contain all of the intended information.
