The Templates module is one of four administrative modules included in the app's Administration section, which can be accessed only by users part of a fully authorized profile. This module is where Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, email, SMS, and spreadsheet templates can be defined for use in the app.
User Email Templates¶
User Email Templates are defined using an editor within the app and are associated with a specific module. After a module is selected for a user email template, placeholders for record information from that module can be inserted using the Content editor's Add Parameter button. Once saved, the user email template can be used to send single and bulk emails on the module it was created for.
The following system email templates are created automatically when a new app is created:
E-mail Status Failed (Single)
E-mail Status Successful (Single)
E-mail Status Failed
E-mail Status Successful
System templates cannot be edited or deleted.
Document and Spreadsheet Templates¶
Document Templates and Spreadsheet Templates are uploaded to the system using template files.
In order for the template files to be associated with the records in the relevant module when generating documents for download, the system names of the fields in the module must be defined in the template. Instructions are provided within the app in order to create the appropriate template format.
To access the instructions, within either the Document Templates or Spreadsheet Templates tab, click the Help icon next to the page title, Templates, and follow the instructions provided within the Quick Guide dialog.
