ServiceNow Connector

Summary

The Jitterbit Harmony ServiceNow Connector establishes access to ServiceNow.

The connector provides an interface for creating a ServiceNow connection, the foundation used for generating instances of ServiceNow activities. These activities, once configured, interact with ServiceNow through the connection.

The ServiceNow connector is accessed from the design component palette's Connectivity tab (see Connectors in Design Component Palette).

Connector Overview

This connector is used to first configure a ServiceNow connection. Activity types associated with that connection are then used to create instances of activities that are intended to be used as sources (providing data) or targets (receiving data) in an operation.

Together, a specific ServiceNow connection and its activities are referred to as a ServiceNow endpoint:

ServiceNow activity types

  • Query: Retrieves an existing record from ServiceNow and is intended to be used as a source in an operation.

  • Create: Places a new recored into ServiceNow and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Update: Updates an existing record in ServiceNow and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Delete: Deletes an exisiting record from ServiceNow and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

Prerequisites and Supported API Versions

The ServiceNow connector requires the use of an agent version 10.1 or later. These agent versions automatically download the latest version of the connector when required.

The ServiceNow connector was developed using the ServiceNow API at the time of the New York release. For more information on the schema fields, refer to the ServiceNow Developer
website
and access the API documentation for your version of ServiceNow by navigating to Reference > APIs > REST.
