ServiceNow Connector

Overview

The Jitterbit Harmony ServiceNow Connector is accessed from the Connectivity tab of the design component palette:

Connectivity tab

This connector is used to first configure a ServiceNow connection, establishing access to an account on the ServiceNow instance, and then used to configure one or more ServiceNow activities associated with that connection as either a source or target within an operation:

  • Query: Retrieves an existing record on a ServiceNow connection and is intended to be used as a source in an operation.

  • Create: Inserts a new record into a ServiceNow connection and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Update: Updates an existing record on a ServiceNow connection and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

  • Delete: Deletes an existing record on a ServiceNow connection and is intended to be used as a target in an operation.

The ServiceNow connector uses the ServiceNow API. Refer to the API documentation available in the ServiceNow instance for information on the schema fields. See ServiceNow schemas for details.

The ServiceNow connector requires the use of an agent version 10.0 or higher.

Together, a specific ServiceNow connection and its activities are referred to as a ServiceNow endpoint. Once a connection is configured, activities associated with the endpoint are available from the Endpoints filter:

ServiceNow Registration

As the connection will be an application that interfaces with ServiceNow, you will need to register at ServiceNow as a developer and create a ServiceNow instance. See ServiceNow Registration for details.
