Add Trading Partners

To add trading partners, follow these steps:

  1. Select a Harmony environment from the Environments menu:

    Environments Menu

  2. Click in the filter pane, or Add Trading Partner in the main pane. The Add a Trading Partner pane opens:

If you can't find a partner, hover on the information icon adjacent to the text Unable to find a Trading Partner? for information on how to have one added.

    Note

The first time you add a partner to an environment, the ISA ID Generation dialog opens, where you must create your first ISA ID.

  4. The partner icon appears in the Trading Partners pane. You can add more than one partner.

  5. To close the Add a Trading Partner pane, click the Close button.

  6. Select a trading partner in the Trading Partners pane to open the partner's administration tabs. Use them to set up the partner's workflows, EDI settings, and communication settings:

ISA ID Generation

EDI trading partners identify each other with a two-part code, made of an ISA qualifier code (interchange ID qualifier, ISA-05), and an ISA ID (interchange sender ID, ISA-06). The ISA qualifier code is a 2-character alphanumeric string that describes the format of the ISA ID. The ISA ID is a 5 to 15 character alphanumeric string that is unique across all your company's environments and doesn't contain hyphens or dashes.

The first time you add a trading partner to an environment, the ISA ID Generation dialog opens for you to set up an ISA ID for your company:

ISA ID Generation

Choose or enter values for the following fields:

  • Qualifier Code: Select a qualifier code from the menu.

  • Company ISA ID: Enter your company's ISA identifier.

    Important

The ISA ID must be unique across all your company's environments, so you should reserve your company's official ISA ID for use only in your production system.

Click Continue to save the values and continue to add your first partner. You cannot change the ISA ID after it has been saved, but you can add additional IDs on the Preferred ID tab. (This is also where the relationship between your ID and your partner's is set.)

Edit a Trading Partner

To edit a trading partner, follow these steps:

  1. Select the partner's icon in the Trading Partners pane. If there are many partners, use the search bar to find the one you want.

  2. Edit the partner's workflows, EDI settings, or communication settings.

  3. Click Save.

Delete a Trading Partner
