File compression functionality is available for Jitterbit source and target files.

Sources

To access file compression for sources, open a source.

NOTE: This applies to File Share, FTP Site, Temporary Storage, and Local File sources.

Expand Options and check The source data is compressed. The default (and currently the only supported) format is ZIP.

Encrypted archives are supported if a password is supplied. Only reading from the root directory of the archive is supported.

Targets

To access file compression options for targets, open a target and expand its Options.

NOTE: To keep the filename in the archive the same as the filename defined in the target, use a format of [file].[ext] as shown above.

There are two writing modes:

  • Overwrite will overwrite the existing archive. 
  • Append will add compressed files to the existing archive. This mode is only available for Temporary Storage and Local File targets. Note that you cannot append to an encrypted zip file.

If a password is supplied, there are two encryption modes available: AES and Standard ZIP:

NOTE: File compression has been implemented as of Harmony Version 8.9. If you are using a Version 8.9 or later Private Agent or a Jitterbit Cloud Agent Group, use file compression as described above; do not use either the Zip Archive or Unzip plug-ins. (For Private Agents earlier than Version 8.9, you can use the Zip Archive and Unzip plug-ins for compression and decompression.)
