View Sealed Data Sources¶

Vinyl provides the ability to view Sealed Data Sources, which allows for editing of specific information in downstream environments. Data Source information can be viewed by navigating to the IDE > Data Servers.

File System and RDBMS Data Source types allow for simple modifications via the Modify button.

Modifying Information Downstream¶

With the ability to view Sealed Data Sources, you can modify simple information downsteam via the Modify button. The business use case for this feature is that in QA and Production environments, sometimes you want to map the file path to a different drive / directory than you do in your Development environment. In order to access where to make these updates, click on the Modify button displayed in the Data Layer for Sealed Data Sources.
